What happened
A large category of online internship providers display MSME registration, Startup India badges, or AICTE-adjacent language to appear government-backed. Students receive instant offer letters after minimal or no screening, complete trivial copy-paste tasks, and are asked to pay for certificates or promote the program on LinkedIn. Community warnings group dozens of such brands together—certificate value is low and many employers do not treat these as real industry experience.
Why it seemed suspicious
MSME registration does not equal internship quality, instant selection, certificate fees, mandatory social promotion, and repeated templates across unrelated 'company' websites.
