What happened
Students report uploading resumes to Shine.com, then receiving calls from people claiming to represent TCS, Infosys, or Wipro. The pattern often starts with a small refundable interview fee, then escalates to security deposits, training fees, and document verification charges. Delhi Police have busted fake call centres that harvested candidate numbers from Shine.com and Naukri.com. Shine.com has publicly warned that fraudsters misuse its brand.
Why it seemed suspicious
Unsolicited selection, payment at every stage, impersonation of major employers, and police cases involving misuse of Shine.com user data by scam call centres.
