What happened
Skillfied Mentor (also appearing as EdGenius Skillfied Mentor or Unified Mentor) contacts students with skill-based internship offers over WhatsApp. Reports say they demand upfront registration fees (around ₹499 for 1–6 month durations) through short payment links, with limited verification of company details or real projects. Students who paid describe generic tasks and additional charges for certificates or fake job interviews afterward.
Why it seemed suspicious
Upfront payment for internships, WhatsApp-only recruitment, rebranding under multiple names, no proper hiring process, and appearance on community fake-internship warning lists alongside CodSoft and Bharat Intern.
